One Step at a Time

I was born and raised in Tola, Harinakundu, Jhenaidah, in a loving, poor, and honest family. I had the best parents and grew up among caring sisters, brothers, relatives, and friends. Despite their poverty, our neighbors were kind and always ready to help one another.

I was fortunate to attend school. Allah favored me, and I became a physician. During my long stay in Germany and my travels across various continents, I never truly felt at home anywhere.

In 1983, I returned home and reconnected with my village and community. I received love and respect, which obliged me to give back. I tried to settle near my village home, but things did not go as planned. Fate led me to Dhaka, where I now practice medicine. There, I witnessed the immense suffering of low-income communities.
